Welcome to my blog!

Hello, and welcome to my blog! I thought of this idea on a whim, hence why I am going to share my own personal thoughts on anime that I think are some of the greatest ever made. Yep, anime... I know it seems "cringe" but there are truly some masterpieces out there that not only look beautiful, but have some captifying stories as well.

Here's a short list of anime I believe are either masterpieces, or fall just short of it:

- Dororo
- Berserk
- Oshi no Ko
- Black Lagoon
- Koe no Katachi
- Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica
- Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken
- Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru
- Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
- Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu
- Fate/stay night Movie: Heaven's Feel - III. Spring Song

Depressing, yet... Beautiful...

I have but one single question... Have you ever wanted to truly feel another person's pain? If you answered yes, then I would highly recommend this show. Berserk, an anime that first aired in 1997- known by many, is an absolute masterpiece. Albeit older, it's story is by all means still one of the best stories in not only anime, but cinematic history. The show (as well as the books if you care to read) follows "Guts," the main character of this story. Guts is a mercenary who will accept any job that guarantees him money, not sticking to one particular group for too long. Wielding a large greatsword, he goes through countless endeavors- including hunting demons to avenge others. This story is so heavy and deep to a point that it leaves me stunned that such an unfortunate character's theme song could be so soothing.

I woke up in another world?!

Could you imagine that one day you're just doing your daily routine, and then the next day you're now in a fantasy world? This trope of "dying" and then being "reincarnated" into another world is known as an "Isekai." In Japanese, the word "Isekai" quite literally means "another world," such a straightforward way of generalizing a whole genre if you ask me! There is an isekai anime that I want to mention, which is known as "Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken" (English: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) The title is straightforward as well, a salaryman was reincarnated as a slime in a fantasy world. It might sound somewhat dumb, which I agree the whole premise can sound as if it is- but this show really does well with building the characters, the world, and many more aspects. It follows the main character- Rimuru's journey as he gets stronger, creates a nation, and works towards peace between monsters and humans. If you want a fantasy show that has magic, monsters, world building and even some political aspects I would highly recommend watching it!

Actors... Idols... Revenge?

Oshi no Ko - known as "My Star" in English at first glance seems like a cute show to watch to pass time, so you press play on the first episode saying "let's see what this is about!" Little did you know that your whole outlook on this show would be changed within this time. The first episode (also known as a Pilot Episode) kept me intrigued and interested throughout the whole runtime- but then there was a particular point that made me absolutely HOOKED on it. I felt so many emotions from the first episode alone, and couldn't wait to see where the story went from there. I'm keeping this extremely brief to not spoil anything, but if you want something that will put you through a roller coaster of emotions within the first episode- I'd recommend it.

A voice that's silent

Koe no Katachi (English: A Silent Voice) is one of the only pieces of media that I've consumed multiple times over and over again. This movie follows someone who was once a bully trying to make up for mistakes in the past that affected another person. It has some very depressing aspects to it but I promise that you will not be disappointed if you watch it through. It's so good that I can willingly admit that I have yet to stop myself from ugly sobbing after watching it. Every single time without fail... Yeah...
